I can be altruistic. when it suits me.

Can I defrag a stripe set (raid 0) safely?

I have 2 physical hard drives on an NVRAID adapter, configured as a single stripe set (i.e. i see them as a single drive on windows).

my question is:

Is it safe to defrag them?

can I use any defrag app. or do I need a special app that deals with stripe sets?

As far as I know, you shouldn't have any problems running defrag.exe (the default defrag tool that comes with Windows) on a RAID drive.

There are better defragging tools than the default one that comes with Windows like Norton SpeedDisk, but they usually have more options to make a more optimized defrag.
