I have painted plastic before, but you will need paint for plastic and that it wont peel off, your best bet is to go to home improvement store like home depot and ask a specialist there, but it can be done.

There are two ways to paint a plastic door.  I've been to Lowes and Home Depot with the same question.  I will share with you what I was told.   The first way is to remove the door from the hinges and take it out side.  Lay on an old table or painting stands (horses), give if a thorough sanding with a fine sanding paper or sanding sponge then spray paint it with rust-o-lium paint which comes in assorted colors and textures.  The other way would be to paint it in place with a good primer, let dry at least 24hrs and then paint with a high gloss or satin finish paint.
