Hi i received your answer, the base of the table ...

hi i received your answer, the base of the table is rod iron i was going to remove the top and place the marble on top .do i have to put a peice of wood on the table before placing the marble top in order to glue it on, in order for it to stay.     thank you  mabeline

I would suggest you glue the marble to a wooden board. This would prevent any rust from the iron table base from permanently staining the marble (even if it is only from underneath) and add strength and stability to the marble top and you would only have to drill into the wood for mounting..
