The death of computer books

I read yesterday about the "Death" of computer books caused by the Internet. Had any programmer around here found him\herself still going back to the books in recent years?

Basically thats true. Nevertheless, sometimes A foreign developer would like to be guided with his own language. As you probably know, most of the tutorial databases are in English. I guess it's just a matter of time until stronger translation tools will be available. and so guidance books will disappear.

I stopped buying computer books in the previous millenium.  They are simply too expensive for the value of their content when you take into account all that can be learned by searching the Internet and practicing things yourself.  Granted, there is a tiny, tiny fraction of books that are good to have, but I still wouldn't buy them on account of the cost (but I'd like to get a cheap or free copy).

I know there are still people out there that buy computer books, though.

I bought 3 computer books in the last few month, 2 of them are for dreamweaver and one for flash. I'm not a programmer but a designer trying to expand my abillities. Yes, the books were expensive, but now I have fairly decent dreamweaver skills and it was still way cheaper then taking a class. It's easier for me to follow the tutorials and look up more info on things in a book then online.

I think the market for books is going to still be there, so far I see more and more books being printed and not less.
