How do you deal with trading psychology?  I find when I've had a few losing trades I tend to go into a losing downward spiral.  How do you deal with this mentally? Any tips?

well, I know this is gonna sound like something lame but just hear me out. simply go home, find somthing relaxing to do, and just take a break from everything you're doing. when you get back to what you were doing you'll usualy find that things are better. at least that works for me.

Thanks Tony, that is good advice.  Sometimes I get so worked up it's hard to walk away and relax.  Have you read any good books about how to deal with it?

Do the right thing. It's good to bend, just don't bend over.

You probably shouldn't invest in the stock market if you can't handle the ride. Up's & downs are the very nature of the market. I become anxious too if I obsess on it. You either have to supress the urge to dwell on it or find a less risky place to put your money.

Thanks Cathy, I know I have it in me to overcome this.  I've overcome many things in my life.  I just need to find what works for me.

Right now, with no clear solution to the economic woes, it's a challenge to know what the right thing to do is.  There may be NO right answers.  Banks aren't paying anything close to good interest.  They're too busy sucking up tax payer dollars in bailout money.  They're sure not in a hurry to share.  I've seen ads for short term CD's with okay (by today's standards) interest.  You should check that out.

n this business, letting your emotions control you will lead to disaster. Instead, you need to have a powerful mindset, or what we call the Trader's Psyche. This is a focused psychological framework that will help you develop selective, wise, and patient trading methods. The most successful traders exhibit these mental habits which help them stay focused on the long-term perspective even when the short-term seems overly distracting.

The biggest enemy to your trading success is not the market. It's YOU. And you are your biggest enemy because of your emotions.
