How do you deal with stress ?

I am just curious how each one of us deals with daily stress - each one of us is unique in creation and has our own way of dealing with matter...some smoke,others do yoga, or others still...let it go...But still we are stressed and feel we need a way out....any tips..?

I like to take an hour and read a book or watch a show that I like. Even if I don't have very much time to get the things that I need to get done. If I just give myself a bit of me time, it's usually easier to get all the rest of the things on my to do list done.

I have many ways of dealing with stress, some of which aren't available to me at the moment. My main ways used to be taking a drive, as I love driving but can't do it at the moment. I also used to go just sit at the beach. I think all of us have a place of peace. The ocean is mine. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in texas at the moment. I hope to soon get both of those joys back in my life. I also relieve stress by working on music or my art on the computer. Yes, it's work, but I love what I do. That makes a big difference. I also love movies, and a good movie can take me out of my reality for two hours at least.

Sometimes I read, or take a nap. Sometimes I talk with friends.

When I'm stressed and upset and need to keep occupied, I cook. There is something very satisfying in taking a bunch of miscellaneous ingredients and turning them into one unified and edible item.

 

It's age old advice, but I like to take three deep breaths, making sure to hold it on the inhale for a few seconds, then completely exhale.  This works well if I'm getting angry as well - I take one good deep breath and fully exhale before I respond to whatever is agitating me.  Works extremely well.

Also, try reading 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle.  Excellent information on this topic and life in general.
