 How is it that if you have a set of data, x1,y1....xn,yn with a known linear relationship between x & y (y = mx + c), and the best straight line fit MUST go through xbar,ybar (xbar average of all x values, ybar is average of all y values).

I am dating this guy who is very old fashioned and not too open to showing his feelings, I like him and i know he likes me, and we both share the same basic morals and values, and overall he is a good match for me. But how can i get us to be more comfortable together?

How long have you two been dating? Are the two of you having trouble talking about yourselves? Think of it this way, it's a give and take thing. You open up about yourself (your family, work etc) and he does the same thing. Don't force things, if you just started dating things will eventually smoothen out over the weeks/months to come.

Be confident in who you are & simply be just that.  No need to rush or feel like you have to force the relationship to move faster than it does on its own.  Enjoy each other and take time to learn who the other person is and the things you share in common.  Don't skip past the fabulous stuff and do not put the cart before the horse.  Good luck!

If you are the only one calling back up - its difficult for men to express their feelings. Never ask a guy where do you see us/this relationship heading? Just go with the flow and enjoy the now. Enjoy the moment, live in the now - especially if it is early in relationship first 6 months. An indication of how in to you he is will be if he is ringing you more than once per week to arrange catch up. If he is calling you to say hi, hear your voice, see how your day was. If you are doing all the chasing back up and let him.
