   How old is your son?  is he over 18 years old?  If so, maybe he needs to find another place to stay.  You are widowed and not committing adultery.  It is your right to let your boyfriend come and stay overnight at your house.  Just let him know ahead of time that your boyfriend is going to stay overnight.  Your son needs to understand that you have your own life to live and deserves to be happy.

ok... i am a teenager;; && mah mamaz man stayz the night all the time, so trust me, i know exactly how. ask him calmly && cooly in conversation how he would feel about it first. then after u see how he feelz make your decision on if itz the right thing 2 do or not. but be sensitive, because his dad did die, if your widowed. he may be hurt or emotional. if he has no problem invite him over. if he has concernz help him, try 2 understand why he does, && help him.

My first question to you would be if your son has ever met your boyfriend before?  It is really important, especially since his father passed away that he feels comfortable with the new man in your life.  You are an adult and you deserve to love and be loved and you should by no means depend on or expect your son's approval.  However, if he is under the age of 18 and still lives in your home than you do owe him the same respect that you expect from him. Make sure that he has been given the opportunity to meet your boyfriend on several occasions.  After that, sit him and down and talk to him like a young adult.  Let him know that you want to be sensitive to his feelings but you and  your boyfriend have been together for a while and he may spend the night every once in a while.  Give him the chance to respond and truly listen to what he has to say and take it to heart.  Hopefully you have been there to support him through the loss of his father and your husband and hopefully he will return the favor by being there for you.  In most cases, the children who do not accept their parents new lovers are the children who did not have support through the loss and were unable to probably mourn.  Just be honest with him and listen to what he has to say.  Make sure you let him know that you wanted to come to him first out of love and respect.

you should ask him calmly if he would like to have some one else at the house over night and when he sayd who you tell him your boyfriend and then if he says sure it will be fine but if he doesnt, which will probably not happen, then you should wait a little longer, then ask again.
