anything goes
If a guy asks you out for dinner and you have only recently met, is it always a date?
"The Only Way to Get Smarter is by Playing a Smarter Opponent"
I wouldn't say it's "always" a date, but what other reason would there be for this person asking you out to dinner. Do you not want it to be a date or just unsure of his intensions? Be staight forward with him and ask of his intensions. If its a date and you want it to be, than great. If it's a date and thats not what your looking for than be up front with him and let him know it can go farther than friendship.
Good Luck!
Unless you are meeting over dinner for a specific reason, such as business, etc. it can certainly be considered a date. And if you just met it is a wonderful way to get to know each other.
