I have been sued for a credit card debt but can not appear in court does anyone know thw penalties for not going?
If it is in civil court, the only thing that will happen if you don't show up is the credit card company will win the judgement by default and you will be ordered to pay the amount you owe them. You also will have a right to appeal the decision.
Be careful of the decisions you make, because the ones you make today will affect your tomorrow!
Judgement by default! Possible additional fees added without you being there to defend yourself.

You have a right to appeal the decision and if you have a legal reason for not showing up in court, you're lawyer should be able to file an appeal for it.
