what did iroquois indian use for the ink on their pottery
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
Indians of the Northeast, like the Iroquois, tended to use pigments made from boiled plants.
There are many things you can use for pigments to be found in nature. Soot from burning wood was the first black. Berries provided many reddish colors and some blues. Other plants provided other colors. Natural minerals also can provide various colors when ground finely. Many fine artists colors are still made from these minerals.
