OK if ur talking about a granny square how it is done is you chain 4 join in last chain to make a loop then u chain 3 which counts as a double crochet then in circle do 2 dc then chain 1 then do 3 dc in circle then chain 1 3 dc ch1 3 dc ch 1 u schould of 4 groups of dc and 4 ch1 space. when u do the last chain 1 u slipstich in 3 chain where u chained 3 wich is the top of the chain 3. ok then u chain 3 and turn then in the chain 1 space u put 2dc in it because rember the ch3 counts as a dc then u chain 1 in same space u put 3 more dc u contine this step all around and for each rd  i hope i helped.
