You aren't obligated to accept any loan offered to you and if you have less than excellent credit they will usually willing to you a loan at a higher rate. Their basic requirement is that your gross monthly income is higher then $1,500.

If your credit is really bad there are other on-line services that partner with local car dealers to offer you a loan.  The one negative is you have to buy a car from certain dealers.
