I hear you saying negotiate a settlement with your large debt credit cards - I tried to do that this week explaining to the "correct department" I would probably never be able to pay it off........I was told YOU CAN NOT NEGOTIATE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT REMIS IN YOUR PAYMENTS (so, if I have not missed payments???) then was told that before I could negotiate it could end up in collections?????? that would impact your credit and they could even prosecute you!!!!!!!!! This was a Bank of America Credit Card////////////thanks

you can always negotiate but they won't just let you do it without a fight. Ask to speak to a supervisor and don't give up until they listen to you. They will in the end. After all it makes more sense for them in the long run.

Credit card companies want your money, but they will try to charge you every which way they can.  They will always set up a payment plan, but some companies might not do that until the account is in collections or charged off.  Let them know your situation and the money you are willing to pay and they should work with you to get their money.

Removing late payments and restoring your credit can also help with your credit score.  Good luck, hope you get it worked out with them.
