How do you form a new religion?
By faithful adherence to the Scriptures. Without that, you are forming a cult. There are lots of cults around: Thuggee, Ramatep, Satanist, etc.
David Koresh is a good example. So is Charles Manson. Then we have some of the other "offbeat" religions like Ekancar and a few (thousand) LSD cults that formed in the 1960's. We don't hear much from these people anymore: most of these followers without leaders died off.
To date, Hindu has 4,550 idols and Buddhism has about 355 sects -- all at war with each other.
Of course, you could try to resurrect the Tawanda cult -- you know, the Amazon goddess of war, atrocity, human sacrifice, torture, and abortion.
Or you could trry to organize a Nordic cult, if you can stand the ferocious and austere doctrine of Wotan and company. The cult is still active in Sweden and Finland, although lawful authority has prevented the worst of their rituals -- including the sacrifice of virgins on the Spring Equinox. Of course, to have that cult in Los Angeles, you'd have to find a girl who is less than three years old and for some reason, her parents might object.
Santarini has made something of a comeback in Florida, but animal humane laws forbid ALL of their rituals.
Or you could try Voodoo. But at nine years of age, you'd find that you are already too old for their initiation rituals. Besides, the use of marijuana is illegal here: Kachib is also illegal in Haiti, because the drug trade made it necessary to outlaw their cult. Possession of cannabis sativa still rates the death penalty there.
Rastafarians show us the weird side of cults. You may not like the actual rituals -- nor will your next of kin, due to the sexual activities you must perform (None of them sanitary).
Any way you look at it, pursuing an offbeat or "alternate" religion is just plain dangerous and completely irresponsible.
