How do I create a elegant bathroom?

We moved into my new home in 2005 and still my Master bathroom looks plain. My daughter and I were able to decide on the decor in one day for the guest room, but still haven't decided if we wall paper/paint the master bedroom. I would like it to look elegant and eye catching. Just don't know where to begin. Help!!!

Answering your question for paint of wallpaper you could do either they have some vintage wallpaper that would look elegant or a burgundy color for paint in the bathroom. if u get wallpaper i wouldn't suggest anything with huge things like flowers etc.  i hope this helps you some how :]

I strongly suggest you look at photos in magazines about interior design. Better Homes and Gardens is a good sourc to start. That will elp you sharpen your taste and give you ideas where and how to start.

start with updated paint colors and keep your metals all the same (i.e. if your faucets are chrome and you don't want to change them, then have your handle and drawer pull and lightfixtures also be chrome.  When you're at the store, look at paint swatch cards to determine accent colors for cushions, curtains, shower curtain, throw rugs, and accessories.  Adding some art on your walls will also add an elegant touch.
