how do you create comments in adobe reader? I'm sure I did it once or twice in the past, but I'm trying to do it now (on Acrobat Reader 8) but for some reason I can't find how to do it.
It depends if the document was created on Live Cycle and was enabled by the author for editing certain fields by users or readers.
You can't do it with any PDF document -- only if the person who created the PDF file chose to allow comments (which is possible only if they used the Pro version of Adobe Acrobat) you'll be able to add comments to the file.
