Set out some food and water for him on the floor in case he gets hungry. Keep looking lower and lower. Chances are he explored a hole and got lost further down somewhere. Maybe he went to the floor below, or maybe he is crawling the air ducts. If there are no holes, he is still hiding somewhere, but he should come to food and water, eventually.
