How to control the trottle?

I am new at motorcycle riding and I am having a problem figuring out how to have smooth throttle control and prevent uncontrolled speed when I reach for the front brake and roll the trottle unintentionally.

If you are new to motorcycle riding, you need to become more familiar  with the bike and get more riding time in. Most bike riders never use the front brake because you can lock the front wheel up and lose control. Your main brake is your rear brake. If you have to use the front brake, use it along with the rear brake to stop faster but with light pressure on the lever and don't forget to release the throttle first. I use my middle finger on the lever when I use it. Good Luck and happy riding!

Good, Fast, Cheap. You can only have 2 of them

Poncho is only partially right. using both brakes together is correct, but your front brake is your primary stopping power. Practice and get used to using your brake well. This is critical to your riding.

Another thought. Your brake lever should be straight in front of the bars to slightly down. If it is twisted upward, this may account for you rolling the throttle as well.

good luck and ride safely.
