or if you're with a service that doesn't have sim cards, such as sprint, most of them will transfer all the data, contacts, pictures, music, etc., for free. Just ask them when you change phones, or call a local store if you bought the phone online and are changing it over yourself.
If you're changing cellular providers, it's a little more iffy. The miniSD will work, but different providers probably won't be able to read others sim cards. And they might not have the connectors to plug into thier phones. In that case, it'll probably end up being a manual transfer thing. Or you can go online, and for 30 bucks order a cell phone data backup kit, pretty sure that will work across phone companies.
