You should check the IP address, to see if it's on a private range, means it won't contradict with another internet address, preferred range is 192.168.1.x (when x another number between 1-254 on each computer).
Another thing you might check is the MTU setting on your router, if there is such. try lowering it a bit.
If nothing helps, you should check your router.
