I'm confused about Wedding Rings

In Jewish tradition, what finger is the engagement ring put on, and what finger is the wedding ring (during the ceremony) put on?  Also, what are these rings supposed to be made of.  A diamond ring would be the engagement ring?

There is no set tradition for an engagement ringbut there is for the wedding ring. The groom puts it on the bride's pointer finger in the ceremony, she can later wear it where it is most comfortable. By Jewish law the wedding ring must be plain and simple, no jewels or diamonds but it can be decorated by engraving.

Jewish women wear the wedding ring on the left hand, even though it is placed on the right hand during the marriage ceremony. Men do not traditionally wear rings at all although in some of the "Modernist" movements it has begun to gain currency.
