Can't install my new Lexmark 1300 printer ...

Can't install my new Lexmark 1300 printer.  Lexmark tech support has tried to help, but none of their suggestions made a difference.  The OS is Windows SP2.  Any guesses what might be the remedy?

What exactly is the problem?

A new printer should be able to work with XP SP2, I'm surprised that Lexmark tech support couldn't help you.

What operating system  do you have installed on your computer?  Most Microsoft Windows operating system provide a hardware installation wizard within its software.  If you are using the Windows XP software it will usually automatically detect new hardware and prompt you for installation.  If not you are able to go to Control Panel and choose the Printer and other Hardware icon and choose to install your printer from there.

But, i have the same problem and it's not on the list when you go to My Computer. How do you install it when you don't have a disk or software for it?

Here's a Windows XP driver for the Lexmark Z1300.

Can I assume Windows_XP SP2 ? You are not using Windows_Vista ?

If you are using win_Vista get another printer.the drivers were not properly configured.
If you are using Win_xp, Do you have the original printer drivers ?

Windows will install universal Lexmark drivers, What is the problem ?
What did the Lexmark people tell you, please summerize.
