You can compare the call plan costs here at our Shop Now UK page. They have introduced a new calling plan to India with free calls to landlines and mobiles. I personally think there is a saving to be made.

Greetings,

The magicjack (magicjack.com) is even cheaper at $20.00USD per year, it is an unbeatable choice.  The voice quality is great(90% of the time). The voice quality is mostly dependent upon the condition of your computer(sluggish, running background programs) and the speed of your internet connection.  It works best on a Hi-Speed connection. It has all the features of a regular phone landline.  During install you are requested to choose a phone number from a list.  Then after install to your computer, you connect your regular phone and phone cord to theMagicjack and you are D-O-N-E!!

Note: if you are handy with wiring, you are able to use the majicjack to provide dail tone to the entire house.  I trust this works for you.

Happy callingCool

Vonage is a good alternative to landlines. Its a good VoIP service/provider. BUT there's lot of great alternative to Vonage.

VoIP has evolved a lot and its cheaper than ever. Quality improved too.

Now you don't have to get stuck with Vonage service if you think $20/month is not cheap. You can find better alternatives that will suit your needs, just make sure you search a lot first.

I don't have a landline anymore. I'm using VoIP service now and I average about $5 a month for my long distance calls including overseas calls.
