Loyalty is the costliest virtue that exists: it includes your life.  Disloyalty is the costliest vice that exists: it includes your soul.

The coming retrogression to anarchy.

The war in Iraq and Afghanistan have left the people comparitively free of terror for the first time in thirty years.  The death of the Soviet Union and the humanization of China came about as the result of US intervention.  Germany and Japan posed a diametric political threat to America -- Japan was still feudal and Germany was fascist.  Now, they have mild governments and adhere to international law.  Their workers are the best paid in the world and they haqve us to thank for it.

We humanized both nations after WWII, and now, they are our strongest allies.  But if we fail, then they will go back to fascism and feudalism.  It will happen wherever we have brought peaceful civilization.

So, somebody -- anybody -- tell me ONE good reason why leftist liberals want to trash our country and make it as miserable as the nations we civilized, before we civilized them?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Normally I can follow what you are saying, but this time I am lost. Is your point that the US should now follow a policy of isolationism? Because if it is, it will never work. Please correct me if I am wrong.

"...why leftist liberals want to trash our country and make it as miserable..."
Are you living int he same world I am? What is happening in my world is the privatization of gains and the socialization of losses. Banks being bailed out by the Government. Recessions being unrecognized for a year. Absolute enslavement of anyone trying to earn a living through unregulated credit industries and impossible bankruptcy laws. And, while I'm not sure of this, it's my understanding that this root cause is not liberalism, but it's antecedent, conservatism. The days of looking to the conservatives for less government and prudent spending seem to be gone. We have no choose but to look towards the left. If, indeed the results are what you describe (and I don't think that is anywhere close to accurate), be sure to tell your Republican and Blue Dog representatives “Thanks, girls and guys!” They've had their chance! I wish they could have focused on their values and the American people instead of yielding to special interests.

Ahhhhhhhhh, Lost, you seem a bit confused and agitated.  Maybe if you calmed down we could all make sense of your posts.

I'm sorry that you are so angry.  Perhaps if you could calm down, get a soothing cup of spearmint and chamomile tea, lay down awhile, and think matters through calmly, then we could understand you.

Dripbydrip, President Obama has already said that he wants isolationism.  Nothing comes in, nothing goes out, we cancel the national debt, cut off disabled people from L&I, VA, and Social Security benefits, etc.

That, while Obama has all the privileges and pork barrel spending that he wants.

The sad fact is that some of us actually BELIEVED Obama, regardless the wrinkled forehead in his debates with McCain.  The wrinkled forehead is the proof that what a person says is a lie.  Compulsive liars learn to conceal this but their words and works soon enough confirm that every word was a lie.

Our leftist liberals and Democrats have shown the same blind arrogance that we have come to expect of them.  Ordinarily, we would take back what these thieves stole from us in terms of national dignity and credibility.

But by the time we do so, there will be nothing left.
