I'd go for something solid like black.

We're not retreating... we're advancing in another direction.

-General Douglas MacArthur

It depends on what color your pants are.  If you are wearing jeans, you could wear either brown or black shoes.  But, if your pants are black, you need black shoes.  The trick is the belt.  If you wear jeans, pick either brown or black shoes and match that with a belt the same color.  It will look very nice.  Wine is a great color

It also depends on where you are going if it is a businesses meeting black but if you are out to party a white belt and white shoes would be rad.

NAVY!

I have wine shoes and wear it with navy tops all the time- the little pop of color makes a simple outfit a bit more stylish... and we all want that! Black works too but just keeps the color palate bland.

there are shades of brown that could look gorgeous with wine -- I also like the navy and white suggestions

if you do black, suggest you pick an interesting texture for your shoes, like suede or patent, to make them pop - otherwise it's just blah
