My cocker just turned 1 and went into heat. Prior to the onset, she has become listless, sleepy, has reflux and diarhhea, and does not eat - although she seems to want to but when she does, she seems to regret it. We took her to the vet -prior to going into heat- and he conducted parasite tests and giardia which were negative. He gave us an antibiotic and sucralfate for a week. Everything has returned. I have had other female cockers and this has never happened. Is this normal or should I be concerned with hemolytic anemia

I don't think this is normal. Some of the symptoms could have physiological explanations but some of them seem quite extreme. I know you went to the vet once but perhaps you should consult with him again. It seems as if there's a pattern here and this might give the vet a clue to what's wrong.
