During last summer I was stuck in another city with little cash and no cloths (it is really a long story). Any case I was there for three days and I had to do a lot of stuff, meaning I had no time to let my cloths dry.

So I promise you that you can, but be careful it ruins the cloths.

I use to put them in the microwave with lost of paper around them so the steam that will rise out of the while they heat up would be absorbed by the paper.

It is not the best way to dry your cloths but it works!

Also you should know that there are some patents on the subject (driers with microwave drying abilities) and I remember seeing a home version as well.

I heard about someone who tried it and burned the clothes, so I guess it's not a good idea...

No, too much moisture in the microwave, but it might give you a little radiation if your lacking.

I agree with habanero that drying clothes in a microwave is not a good idea.  Several fire safety websites say that this can cause a fire.  For example: "Never attempt to dry or sterilise clothes or blankets in microwave ovens as a fire may result when the items are removed from the oven."  (NSW Fire Brigades: Microwave oven fire safety)

I have tried it twice, The first time it worked well. The second time I lost my pair of jeans (Plz, do not even try it).

I am sure that if I have left it one more minute, It was to cause a fire. I ended up with my pair of jeans full of burnt holes!!!
