I just got a pack of Torpedo cigars, Until now I've only smoked Parejos (still the same brand) and liked the taste. Will the different shape point to a different taste?

The taste of the Torpedo will change and get more intense while the Parejo tends to stay about the same. The Torpedo figurado has a tapered end that continually builds up the taste. The smaller the cigar gets, the more intensified the flavor gets. When you cut the head, make sure that you do not cut too much off the tip so that you can experience it fully.

The blending can be different based on the ring gauge certainly. One leaf more One leaf less changes the taste sometimes dramatically.

Picture a cigar like a stew with meat, potatoes, celery, carrots, onions. Take away onion and you change the taste.
