According to the Tanakh, this fratricide occurred shortly after the creation of the world and man. A bit further on in the scroll of Bereis, there is the story of the destruction of the world thru a flood. From this post-Diluvian family of Noah, the world was repopulated. The Hebrew history did not stay with many of the post flood folks for very long.
In view of the history that was preserved in the Tanakh as related above, I have to say that there was no opinion of this fratricide outside of the Hebrew community.
If I have misunderstood your question, please restate it and I will try again.
