When life presents a challenge, take your shot.

I think that the more activities you can get yourself involved in, the better.  If you can do some discussion groups, clubs, games, with other people your age, you will find others who are also looking to meet people.  Of course, just like all of life, there are those people who are just looking for sex.  But, if you want friendship, I'm sure that there are people out there who are looking for something similar.  Don't give up.  Try to do something new, to change your daily life for a more social itinerary.  Even if it's going to Church activities.  I know you can find something.  Good luck and keep your chin up.

So what???

Hun, there are a'lot of men that would be willing to just be friends. You're just looking in all the wrong places.  Have you tried myspace.com?  It gets a'lot of bad feedback, but there are all sorts of people on there, Christians included, that just want to be friends.

Iwish you all the luck in the world Sally Girl.

Have you checked out the senior citizen center in your town? Where I live the center has dances, various table and card games and general get-togethers just to have fun. There are women as well as men there and you won't feel threatened as there are people to introduce you and be there for you if a problem developes. Good luck.

You could ask your friends if they know anyone that matches the kind of person you're looking for...

Just keep yourself in good shape , look as nice as you can and look approachable. Smile at people and get out to church and social activities as much as you can. I think many older men may feel that they will be expected to behave with a woman in ways that they are a bit shy about. Just be complimentary and reassuring. And be up front about what you are looking for in a friendship. And pray and ask God for a friend. He will provide.
