How should I choose where to study for the second degree?

Should I go to a well known university in which I don't really choose freely my laboratory and I would spend the first year in rotations between labs and only then settle on one, or a not so well known university but choose my favored laboratory from the start?

Go to the best school you can get into.  The name and the networks you make there will really help you in the long run, even if you have to spend some time rotating around first.  Besides, a rotation may be a good experience... It will let you "try before you buy".  If you go to a lesser known school and choose your "favored lab" but then decide you don't like it after a year, you'll be stuck.

I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox

I agree with socialmedia, I can tell you from personal experience that a year of rotating between labs gave me a much better appreciation of the day to day activity I should expect, and I changed my focus to something that suited me better.
