My name is Charlotte Schaechter and I have had a problem with my tongue peeling. I went to my Internist who gave me a mouthwash prescription which didn't work. He gave me the name and phone # of an ENT and he took a swab of my tongue and he said the lab came back with bacteria from my stomach. He told me to take Prilosec OTC and florconizole and Cipro when he got the report from the lab - nothing helped, I then went to an Infectious disease doctor and was given intravenous for a full week of 2 medications and the main Doctor stopped it after a week and said it would not help. He also gave me a prescription mouthwash which I had to swish and swallow for 2 weeks - in between I had gone to Delray Medical Ctr for an TEE (special echo) and because I swelled up from the medicine given me for the test-I was given prednisone for 6 days and that helped for a few days but then it came back and that is why I went to the Infectious disease doctor. Nothing has helped and I have this problem since June. I'm not sure if this is endangering my life or what to do about it. I am 82 years of age and never had anything like this before.  I have had Shingles twice approximately 15 years apart-the last time was a year ago from April until early part of June 2007 - I was in the Shingles test and was given a shot (don't know if it was a placebo or not) back in February 2008 but I got the problem I have now since June 2008 and I don't know what to do anymore.  Can I be helped????? my home phone is 561-637-4869 and my email address is retbkkpr@aol.com any help will be gratefully appreciated.
