A:The reason I said "not for me" was because as a child I had no books. We had the Bible and the Sears, Roebuck catalogue. Our parents and grandparents told us stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Little Black Sambo and so forth. The only book I remember reading and re-reading as a young person was: The American by Howard Fast. I was 16 and found it at the library.
