That really sucks! I remember getting them all the time when I was a kid and my mom going nuts!
Anyway, she used to comb our hair with a lice comb and wash it between strokes in a mixture of vinegar and water. It's really annoying, but it's the only thing that really worked.
Also, once the head is finally clean, put a couple of drops of Rosemary oil in the lower part of the scalp (just above the neck) everyday, it keeps the lice away. It's not fail proof but it works.
