What chemical found in well water will cause Sterling Silver to turn dark Blue?

I have well water and I had cancer so I am concerned about my water quality. I recently noticed my older silver spoons have turned almost a colbalt blue.  I have never seen this before.  Could chemicals that may have leached into the ground water caused this tarnishing of Sterling Silver?  I would like to have my water checked but there are so many chemicals and minerals to check for it will become quite costly to randomly test going down the long list the water testing companies suggest you check.  Can you help me?

First off, if you are worried about the quality of your water, you can buy home testing kits in any hardware store.  Secondly, silver is rarely pure.  If it contains trace minerals, it can appear bluish green.  I have very acidic water, and I have copper and brass pipes.  This turns my sinks and bathtubs blue.  I am not sure if it could hurt older silver, but it might.  Test your water first to ensure your water is drinkable, then call a jeweler to ask about the discoloration of your sterling silver.
