I heard a while ago that Bush decided to give everyone a big tax benefit, basically a check at tax time, in order to encourage people to spend money, and boost the economy. Is this true? If so, how much will our checks be and when will we get them?
The checks will be out between early May and July. Anywhere up to $600 for individuals and $1200 for families, with $300 for each child. Personally I would put that money into savings. This is basically an advance on next year's taxes, so there is a possibility you will have to shell out more next year. Personally I think our next President should teach this country to live within it's means and not spend money we don't have in the first place.
