Sad to bear bad news, but the safest way to move a motorcycle is by riding it in civilized weather. That is, unless you are going overseas. In that case, the best move is to sell here it and keep the money, then buy another ride once you get where you're going.
That isn't because you need to fear the crating process. Almost any shipper can crate the bike. The problem is when you get your Harley to India -- and find to your horror that there is only one HD dealership and it's in Calcutta!
However, as disgusting as the prospect may seem, you may find (ugh) Yamaha dealers sprouting like toadstools in a wet lawn. So, hide your colors and ride rice while you are in India . . . China . . . Japan . . . Kenya, or wherever you are headed.
Then, once that Yamaha is worn out (a few thousand miles) donate it to the boat anchor foundation and when you are back, get a MAN'S motorcycle: it will say Harley-Davidson on the side.
