Looking for cheap repo car sales or impounded cars can be risky, but if you are organized there are many bargains on hand.
Impounded cars could be abandonded cars, repo vehicles and even seized vehicles.

The first thing you need is a full list of vehicles on auction (I'll give you a helpful link further down), and do your own valuation on all the repo cars which you may be interested in. Set a ceiling bid / value for every car and don't go above that.

Note : The repo cars which you hope to bid on should have titles (or at least  - be able to be titled) otherwise you can't obtain insurance.

If you have not experienced a repo car sales auction already then I recommend you attend a few repo auctions beforehand in order to get a better comprehension of the process - it's crucial to build up some confidence because car auctions can be quite nerve-racking the first occasion.

Once you have attended a few auctions you may begin to recognize the regulars - the people in shirt and tie are most likely used car salesmen.

Note which repo vehicles they tender on , they're guaranteed to know the market (what price they can market the car for) and furthermore the general condition of the cars - they will most likely be on good terms with the auction personnel and would get extra info - most certainly more than us general public.

Remember - the car dealers would like to make up a fat profit on the vehicle so they can't to offer as much as yourself - this large profit that the salesmen would add on may possibly be your huge savings ....
(This is the most secure method that I have revealed for obtaining cheap repo car sales - you could go it solo if you take along some skilled advice and feel confident.)

The top way to collect info about future repo car sales auctions are with  Gov repo car sales and auctions , they are leaders and maintain one of the most up to date and dependable information archives of Government & Police auctions of used, repo, impounded and seized vehicles, trucks and SUV's.

Alternatively you can check through stacks of sites, magazines and newspapers, plus / or contact various bank repo institutes and credit unions. This would take lots of time and effort , and honestly, you couldn't come near to the quantity and standard of up to date info which a business who focusses on this could. If you would like access to the top bargains to be had then getting the most complete and up to date info is imperative.

Hopefully I helped you a little with your search for cheap repo car sales.

All the best, and if you're patient and do the research you should be able to discover a great deal!

You can contact your local bank to see if they have any inventory. Most banks send their cars directly to dealer auctions so they don't keep them around long.

Public auctions are always high risk for finding a reliable car but you have to give up something to get a great price.

Hi,

To answer you questions:

- There are two ways to find the best deals. If you go online, you'll generally be able to search past winning bids ,so you'll know how much a certain vehicle has gone for at that place. If you're offline, you can pretty much do the same : Look for MANY auctions in the area where you live, attend them all and lurk around for a while to see what prices you can expect. Sometimes it's a good idea to drive thirty extra miles and go to the next state. Believe it or not, changes in prices can be substantial. Always check what pros do and what their top bids are. My top deal was 85% off, although I had to fix a couple of minor things with the engine.

- You can avoid problems by asking for a full Vehicle History report and checking the car yourself. Sometimes you can also pay a bit more for an extended guarantee. Never buy cars "as seen" unless you really know what you're doing; always go for the "with trial" option.

Here's some more tips on buying cars at government auctions and general info on government auto auctions .
