What charitable organizations/causes should I give to?

They also have some interesting stuff for Christmas, if you want to go a step further and make a donation and in return decorate your house or buy your dear ones some little presents.

I think that any organization for kids and the disabled will do the job.

I think any charity or organization will do the trick, but I would try and find an organization that you directly relate to, especially if you or your family members have a disease or other illnesses.  Since I have diabetes, I would recommend donating to them ;)
