How to change sleeping habits

Ben Franklin said, "Early to bed, early to rise ...."  But I'm naturally the opposite ... late to bed, late to rise.

Smile  The problem is that sometimes I need to get up early.   Is there a way that I can retrain my "internal clock" so that I can get to sleep early?

I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox

To some extent, your sleep cycle is determined by your genes. Some people are genetically programmed to be the early to bed types (like me),  while others are night owls.

You can change your sleep pattern if you really want, but it will take quite a while and has to be done gradually. There is no quick and easy method. All you have to do is start going to bed a bit earlier and getting up a bit earlier. In the beginning it won't be easy but over time your body will readjust (just like when you're jet-lagged).

Thanks, MackTheKnife.  That's reasonable advice.  I'll try it, and see what happens ....

I go to bed early almost at 21:00 but I often  get up at 4:00 . Within 3-4 hours I get tired . How can I change this critical early morning time because I don't want to be wakeful so early. Thanks
