Why catholics get upset

Why do catholics get bent out of shape when Kathy Griffin made a remark when she won an award.  She came on stage to get her trophy and she said, "Now a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.  He didn't help me a bit.  If it was up to him, Cesar Millan would be up here with that damn dog (award).  So all I can say is suck it Jesus, this award is my god now."

Griffin later explained she meant this remark not as a slight on Jesus, but rather as a satire of celebrities who thank Jesus profusely and nonsensically for their awards, especially artists who themselves are controversial.

Go Griffin!!!

No matter what Griffin said later, what she said on stage was blasphemous. Catholics (and all christians) are deeply offended when Jesus is disrespected.

Of, course there is freedom of speech...anyone can say what they want...just as we have free speech we also have free feelings.  You thought what Cathy Griffin said was funny and Lido and I thought otherwise...no big deal.  Cathy Griffin is a very funny person as was the late George Carlin.  Lots of people say things we don't like or that hurt our feelings, but that doesn't mean we dislike the person.  I mean come on...even my mom says things I don't like or agree with but I don't insult her or her religion over it.  As far as my religion goes, I don't believe that is of your concern, but if you must know...I am a Christian.
