Will my cat be back?

Hi,

i moved into a new home with my cat and her kitten. my cat left her kitten and ran away. will she be back? we were there for only a day and she left the next morning. she is Fixed and her Shots are up to date. how long will it take? she is a very friendly cat and was always treated like a princess.  i looked and called around the neighbourhood for hours all day and almost all night with no sign of her. is she coming back? my heart is breaking............

It happens often and i can understand your feelings. If she was along her kitty, then she must will return.

If your old home is not too far, I would return there, or call one of your old neigh bors to see if there were any sighting of her.  When we moved, our cat kept sneaking out and going back to our old neighborhood.  She was crossing a 6-lane major highway to go there and I was afraid eventually her luck would run out.  After the third time, although I hated to do it, we took her to a no-kill animal shelter.  Hopefully you will find her.  Please let us know.

actually i had three cats (two were male) that grew up with her. (they were outside cats that i took in)i send the two males to the shelter. do you think that she went looking for them?

Can she really find her way back home? its about 10 to 15 miles

As Long As You Don't Live Near A Main Road Then There Is A Good Chance Of Survival. If She Has Been Tagged & Is Found, The Cat Should Be Back To You ASAP. If Your Cat Is Trekking Off, It Will Come Back When Its Hungry

Well If the cat is a mother.Maybe a good chance she ran away is to find food for her kitten. Or if you werent treating her right. If she has a good life she would come back. Also she could ran away cause she was dying and she didnt want to see the kitten and you get sad.

cats are good with directions, so unless someone else gives it food they usually come back.

I saw kitty in the yard Monday night. i was soo happy. even though she ran away from me. (well she came up close but ran in the neighbors yard) She probably knew that i was going to lock he down if i had caught her.  What happen was....i went to the Shelter and got the other two male cats (her friends who she grew up with) and put them outside in a see through little house that i build.  She probably heard them and came home to see for herself. Now that she knows that they are there she will probably come back for good..   Well all i really wanted to know was that she was alright.   She is still soo healthy looking, so i guess whereever she is is must be well taken cared of.  How happier can i get. LOL
