I would like to estimate the speed of a car that hit me. I was turning left at an intersection (no light on to a side street) off the main road way. It was dark and had been raining. The car the hit us left 145 feet of skid marks and drove my car back about 15 to 20 feet backwards. My car out weighed his by quite a bit (ie mine 2002 GMC Envoy his 1996 Mazda MX6 likely about 1000lbs difference. Being dark with raod clare I did not realize how fast the car was going and began the turn. the post speed for the school zone is 30 KM per hr. and out of school hrs 50 KM per hr. Both cars were written off from the impact. I like to prove to insurance that the car that hit me was travelling at an excess of rate of speed.
