A:I couldn't find the exact info but according to
this article it looks like the 2004 was still an inline 5 cyl. I read in a forum post a while back about someone who had trouble with his 06 straight 5 270E. So it was made at least until 2006. I'm sorry I couldn't find a direct answer yet but I'll continue looking.
