Hi I have a peugot 205 1.1 f reg 1 989 it ...

I have a peugot 205 1.1 f reg 1

989 it recentley over heated found a leak in the radiator and replaced it but it over heated again while i was refilling the system so i removed the thermostate and tryed again but it started to over heat again while all this was going on white smoke was coming out of the expansion tank smelling like petrol and clouds of white smoke poured from the exaust can anyone tell me what the problem is now the car is very old and pretty beat up and has nearly 115k on the clock

Most probably that due to the over heating your engine head gasket had blown and needs replacing. At the same time resurrfacing of the head is done and the engine head is chacked for damages.

What might've happenen could be that the head gasket has gone and needs replacing or (this is just suggestion) we had a 90's BMW 520i which we had the same problem as you've encountered, and we found that the pipe connected to the cylinder head was the problem so we custom made our own, but that was for a different car but it might be something to do with the cylinder head or the head gasket.
