I am trying to find the engine temperature sensor ...

I am trying to find the engine temperature sensor on a 2000 pontiac montana. my fans arent working and we have checked everything else. can someone please explain to me where the sensor is or even send me a link for a diagram or something. thanks in advance!

Conservation: Paying more and getting less.

With electric fans it's almost always the motor. Run a hot AND ground wire from the battery to the motor to see if the motor is any good.

If you want it done and done right the first time do it yourself

i belive it is near the radiator hose where the thermostat is it should have a quick conect conector on it with 2 wires good luck

No. If he ran hot AND ground wires directly from the battery to the fan motor(s) and they don't work, the fan motor(s) are bad.

Note: The reason you must use both wires is because on some systems the fans have power to them all the time and the sensor completes the circuit by supplying the ground. some are the opposite.

Also on most cars the second fan comes on when the A/C is turned on. The parts man should be able to tell you which fan is the primary and which fan is the A/C fan. Change the primary first and if it works then change the scond one.

well our a/c works so doesnt that mean that the motor on that fan is good? i dont know but i ll ask again and make sure he checked it right. thanks!

 Are the fan blades moving? You know, going around in circles. One more time. When you run the wires directly from the battery to the fan motor, you are by passing every thing else in the circuit. Sensor. Fuse, relay, even the wiring. If the motor won't run that way, it's not going to run any other way.
