Modular carpet tile are really good if it wear you pull up a few small pieces and stick down new ones. or natural fiber carpets, also you can go with a carpet with multi colors to help hide wear and pet staining. Great tip when installing the carpet put a layer of plastic between the pad and carpet so urine and liquids dont soak and stain all the way to the floor where they are almost impossible to get up.
