Well you have a very serious issue (s) here. Couple minor possibilities for you that maybe you have already tried and maybe not. 1st, if you have been looking actively for work and can't find it, your eligable for unemployment insurance which lasts roughly 3 weeks. Because of your disabled son (sorry to hear that) your receiving SSI but you should be qualified for state funded medicaid and other Health NY related medical services. As far as your bills go, depending on your financial situation (doesn't sound too good unfortunately), you may be able to negotiate with national grid for an installment plan, personally your situation is perfect for your district senator and or congressman or women to handle. Truthfully, "honesty is the best policy" I would write to your local politicians. Your definately in the boat for state aid but I beleive you would qualify for some other more complicated services. Try what I have suggested, and if nothing else, take the time to write your political leaders. Politics maybe mostly old men talking but every now and then, one of those big wigs actually shows his or her true colors and assists his or her fellow man in time of need. Hope this helps.
