What is a EGR for a 89 Nissan Sentra? How can I fix it myself?
Most newer EGR (exhaust gas recirculation ) valves are electronic and have to be replaced. Older versions are mechanical and be cleaned and repaired. Check with your dealer and find out if yours can be repaired. (I believe it can be repaired) It's located on the intake manifold and usually it's easily accessible. Good luck.
